CHILE IN SUCCESSIVE W/CUP QUALIFYING WINS

Two-time South American champions Chile have made it back-to-back wins for the first time in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers after they thrashed bottom team Venezuela 3-0 in Santiago on Thursday night. The two straight wins have been recorded on the back of a run of seven games without victory.


Ahead of the rescheduled matchday five clash at home to Paraguay, Chile had not won since beating Peru at home on matchday three. The Chileans drew three times and lost four times over the course of the seven-game winless run. The run came to an end thanks to a 2-0 victory during the abovementioned encounter with the Paraguayans. After a goalless affair in the first half, Chile scored twice in three second half minutes to seal only their second win as far as the World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign is concerned in the South American section. CAF: LIBYA, SURPRISE GROUP F LEADERS

Libya are the surprise leaders in Group F after two rounds of games as far as the World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign is concerned in the CAF (Confederation of African Football) is concerned. Libya were drawn in Group F alongside Angola, Egypt and Gabon in the second round of the African qualifiers ahead of the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar.

In the first round of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers on the African continent, the likes of Angola, Liberia, Equatorial Guinea and others booked their place in the second round. The other qualifiers from the first round include Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania, Djibouti, Malawi, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Togo, Rwanda and Sudan. ZLATAN STILL HOPING TO BE A PART OF SWEDEN’S WORLD CUP SQUAD

While a lot of people have already hung their boots at age 38, AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has decided that he’s still fit at the same age and that he will continue to push himself as he has no plans of retiring anytime soon.

Ibrahimovic has played for a couple of clubs in his career including Ajax, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, LA Galaxy, and AC Milan while also representing his nation country’s national team. After leaving United some years ago to sign for the United States Major League Soccer giants Los Angeles Galaxy, many thoughthe would be end his impressive run there but he shocked many by choosing to sign for Milan.

WHO ARE THE FAVORITES TO WIN NEXT YEAR’S WORLD CUP?

While it is still always mentioned that football is a game of teamwork and that anything can happen in it, there is still no change in the fact that there are countries that have the upper hands over others when it comes to the chances of being able to win the World Cup.

WILLIAMS PROUD TO BE PART OF WORLD CUP PLANNERS

It’s not often that one gets a call to come to be a part of the planners of a FIFA World Cup tournament, but for Williams Morales, he can count himself as one of the lucky few to have received such a life-changing invitation. Morales, a civil engineer, was privileged to get a call back in 2013 and was told to get prepared that he was going to be part of the construction team to prepare for the World Cup slated to start next year.

As at the time when he received the call, he was already overseeing a project in Iraq. The project he had at hand was a complex which would contain a stadium of at least 65,000 capacity. In the same complex, there would be a hotel (five-star), and a couple of other facilities that can be used for sporting activities. But as soon as Williams knew why he had received that call that moment, he knew his life had started a journey to a huge change.

INTER’S VECINO EARNS CALL-UP TO URUGUAY NATIONAL TEAM

Inter Milan Midfielder Matias Vecino is very much excited at the prospect of representing his national team after it was confirmed that he has been included in the 35-man preliminary squad released by the country’s head coach Oscar Tabarez.

Tabarez recently handed a list of 35 players across Europe and beyond who he deemed fit to represent the country on the international level and he has revealed how pleased he is with his list. The list was still prepared and released despite the fact that the South American World Cup Qualifying fixture ls were postponed indefinitely.

KYRGYZSTAN vs. MYANMAR GAME POSTPONED

The World Cup 2022 qualifier between Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar has been postponed due to the political situation in Myanmar. The news of the postponement was revealed by the Kyrgyzstan Football Union.

Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar are in Group F of the second round of the Asian qualifiers as far as the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar is concerned. The match between hosts Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan was scheduled for March 30, 2021 until the latest development about its postponement. Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan are both in contention to qualify for the third round of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers in the Asian section. In Group F, Kyrgyzstan are in second spot behind league leaders Japan with seven points, while Myanmar are in fourth position with six points. As next year dawns on us, so is the next, and then the next one after it. The year 2022 is one that so many football fans are looking forward to as the world will witness another edition of football’s most prestigious tournament; the FIFA World Cup.


Qatar, the country that will host the World Cup is currently making sure that preparations continue to hot up and there is no relaxing at all. The country has promised to make the forthcoming World Cup tournament the best one yet by making provision for a very welcoming atmosphere and a great experience.

CAF: QATAR 2022QUALIFYING FORMAT REVEALED

 

The FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying series has started in all the continents and the African continent is no exception as the race to qualify for the World Cup 2022 tournament is expected to gatherpace in the coming months.28 teams entered the first round of the qualifiers in the African section as the other teams were drawn bye into the second round.At the end of the two-legged ties involving the 28 teams, 14 teams qualified for the second round.


Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola, Malawi, Djibouti, Tanzania, Liberia, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, Sudan and Rwanda all qualified at the end of the first round ties that took place in September 2019. In total, 40 teams are in the second round as far as the World Cup 2022 qualifiers in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) section is concerned.
