INTER HANDED UCL GROUP OF DEATH

Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have been handed a very difficult group after the UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage draw was held on Thursday in Istanbul, Turkey. The Italians have a big battle on their hands if they are to make out of the group stage into the last 16.

Inter Milan have been drawn in Group C alongside German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Spanish La Liga heavyweights Barcelona and Czech champions Viktoria Plzen. There are three former winners of the competition in the group. Inter Milan are two-time winners, while the duo of Bayern and Barcelona have won the competition on five occasions each.

Belgian international RomeluLukaku has re-signed for Inter Milan to boost their bid for success this season. He left the club for former team Chelsea last summer in a club-record deal worth almost £98m, but things didn’t work out for him in West London. Lukakuis back at Inter Milan on loan after one season in his second spell at Chelsea. He’s expected to spearhead the attack for Belgium at the World Cup 2022 tournament. The Belgians had qualified for the World Cup 2022 tournament by winning their qualifying group in the European section. Lukaku might need to be in top form if Belgium are to improve on their third place from the 2018 Russian World Cup at the World Cup 2022 tournament on Qatari soil.

In his first game back at Inter Milan, Lukaku showed his quality with the first goal of the game during the 2-1 away win over Lecce. However, he failed to find the back of the net in the second league game of the new Italian Serie A season for his team, a 3-0 win at home to Spezia. The likes of Lautaro Martinez, HakanCalhanogluand substitute Joaquin Correa were on the scoresheet for the Nerazzuri.
